In the final days of 2023, I found myself at a crossroads, staring at a life I had built but no longer recognized as my own. After more than a decade climbing the corporate ladder in the legal world, I had achieved what many would consider success. Yet, beneath every milestone and accomplishment, there was a quiet ache—a feeling that something essential was missing. Somewhere along the way, I had lost the part of myself that once made me feel alive.
From my earliest memories, I was drawn to creative expression. I grew up in a home alive with music, where every corner was filled with melodies that seemed to know my soul. I wrote poetry, told stories, and let music, photography, and art become my voice when words felt too small. As the demands of adulthood grew, I convinced myself that setting aside these passions was necessary to succeed. I focused instead on the “real” career I thought I needed to build.
For years, I kept climbing higher, determined to reach some distant summit of success. But the higher I went, the thinner the air grew, and I realized I had built a life disconnected from the roots that once nourished me. To find myself again, I knew I had to return to those foundations and nurture the part of me I had abandoned.
In my search to reconnect with myself, I was drawn back to fragrance. Over the years, I had become an avid collector of perfumes, each one a little bottle of memories and emotions captured in scent. Fragrance, I realized, had been my quiet companion all along, like an old friend waiting for me to see its depth. Some of my fondest memories were of watching the women I loved—especially my mother—apply perfume. The way she dabbed the fragrance gently onto her wrist and neck, transformed by an invisible beauty and strength, gave me a sense of safety and wonder. Those moments showed me that scent could hold entire worlds of memory, love, and comfort.
Years later, a familiar note of jasmine or musk on a stranger would transport me back to those fleeting moments with her, wrapping me in nostalgia, warmth, and connection. I realized no other art form could evoke memories with such vivid clarity. Fragrance was a direct line to our deepest emotions and stories—a way to hold onto the moments that make us who we are.
And so, Sage & London was born—a way to share not just my story but to offer others a chance to reconnect with their own memories and creativity. Each fragrance is a celebration of life’s quiet magic, an homage to our collective memories, emotions, and experiences. Each chapter of the Sage & London experience reflects the beauty of the world around us, captured in a bottle, waiting to be lived and relived with every spray.
For me, Sage & London is both a deeply personal journey inward and a shared journey outward. It’s an invitation to reconnect with what grounds us: the memories, feelings, and experiences that remind us who we are and what makes life wondrous. I hope these scents will bring you comfort, joy, inspiration, or simply a moment of stillness—an opportunity to rediscover the beauty in being human and to reconnect with your own creative passions.
As Sage & London begins its story, I invite you to walk alongside me—a journey of vulnerability, discovery, and connection. Together, let’s create something meaningful: chapters that inspire, memories that linger, and a shared celebration of the beauty in being human.
